The Challenge
Galderma India wanted a fresh way to talk about sun protection in store. People hear about UV damage nonstop, but most don’t know how intense UV exposure actually is or why one needs sunscreen to protect oneself from it. The marketing team needed something simple, interactive, and visual that could raise awareness and clearly separate the brand from competitors without overwhelming shoppers.
The Idea
Shoppers place the UV indicator sticker on their hand, phone or handbag. When exposed to light, the sticker shifted color to show how strong the UV levels were in that moment.
The consumer was able to see the difference instantly.
- Understand that even on cloudy days or indoors UV can damage their skin.
- The brand empowered their sales staff to have meaningful 1:1 conversations with their consumer
- The tool can clearly indicate when product should be used so to take the headache of keeping tabs from the consumer
People could try it themselves or watch others, affix the sticker to their phone for constant reminders, etc.
The Impact
This demo didn’t just tell shoppers about UV danger, it showed it. They saw UV levels change right in front of them, learning when and where UV is strongest and how to stay safe. Engagement jumped, conversations got easier, and the brand’s advantage became obvious within seconds.
It turned a simple sticker into a powerful in-store experience that set Galderma apart in a way no claim or shelf talker could ever match.
